ARUGAM BAY

Sea Flower (booked through booking.com)/ 1550RPs a night

Not the cheapest considering it was a wooden hut. We didn't realise the room we had booked was a cabana meaning it was part open at the top which worried me because of mosquitos, however there was a blue light in the room which doesn't attract insects at night.  Still had a few insects though, one of which did go in my ear at night while lying on the bed that and a cockroach falling from my trousers when I went to put them on made my stay less pleasant. The room was mainly taken up by the bed which had a massive mosquito net. Bathroom was also part open near the ceiling and not the cleanest.

This property did also have other rooms in proper concreate building however they only had a small fan meaning the room was very hot.

Location almost on the beach but a little further out from the main area.

Not my favourite stay however one of the cheaper options in Arugam Bay.

Golden Surf (can be booked through bookings however we just turned up and as the season hadn't fully started we got a better deal)/ 2300RPs a night

We went for a more expensive room which was massive. Clean big room with fridge and big clean bathroom with hot shower. Balcony with the best view of the ocean and costline.

Staff all really friendly and helpful.

Location almost on the beach, on sight restaurant with seats on the beachside (food was ok, not great).

Would recommend if you go for a large room with sea view
